A River Under the Sea

Mr. Jacques Yves Costeau, an oceanographer that works for the Discovery Channel, has just find this phenomenon under the sea in Cenota Angelita, Mexico, when he diving. At first, he discovered a group of fresh water in the middle of salt water. As he continued to dive deeper, he saw an unbelieveable view: A river!

The river is fully equiped with leafs and trees. Researcher said that it was Hydrogen Sulfide layer, but it's really looks like rivers, right?

But there is a big question here. The water above the 'river' on the sea surface is fresh, altough it was in the same place with salt water in the middle of ocean. How could that happen?
