Prophet on Facebook

We would have used to hearing the news about someone who claimed to be a prophet or a messenger of god, or even Jesus. It has happened even since before a blog and facebook created, haha, just kidding. Well, in this era of technology, where almost everyone is familiar with the internet, then the claims of someone who felt himself as a prophet, spreaded using the Internet media. His name is Sakti A. Sihite, a regular guy from Jakarta, which claimed to be the apostles since October 1, 2007. He spread his teachings through facebook and blogs. Interestingly, his facebook page has a lot of fans!

Because Indonesia is a Muslim-majority countries, Sihite's teachings are also made similar to the Islamic teachings. He still recognized Muhammad as a prophet, but he does not recognize Muhammad as the last prophet (what a typical).

His teachings is unique, and not so deviate from the teachings of Islam as a whole. For example, he teaches that the time to breaking the fast is not at when maghrib call to prayer (adzan) reverberate, as it is known by Muslims in Indonesia, but about 30 minutes after that. Why? Because when maghrib adzan reverberate at about 6 PM (in Indonesia), the sun was not setting completely yet. The sky was still lit up like daylight. While the Quran taught that, time to breaking the fast is when the sun had set completely. And the time where the sun isperfectly set, is about 30 minutes after the adzan, when the sky began to really dark.

He has many more other teachings. He spread all of it through his blogs and facebook. If you are curious, this is his blog: http://www.saktisihite.com/ To address his facebook, you just type Sakti A. Shite on the facebook search box. Unfortunately, all of his teachings were written using the Indonesian language.

Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) had not remain silent after knowing the activities of this fake prophet. But until now, there has been no action taken. Amazingly, Sihite's followers on facebook has reached 1.200 people and keep growing. A sign that his doctrine accepted by society? But the people who blaspheming him is not a bit too.

Honestly, Sihite's writings are quite interesting and he use intelligent language to write. He was able to integrate the existing doctrine in the Bible and the Quran so that they are not contradictory, and all of the critical comments is answered with a very good language. So do not be surprised if there are people who believe that he probably is a real prophet.

So guys, it seems that prophet of today can also use the technology, right? Maybe next time there will be people who came through facebook and blogs, and then claimed to be Jesus or other prophets.
