Angkot is the most cheapest public transportation in Indonesia. To reach the distance of about ten or twenty kilometers from your home to some place (ex. city market), you only have to pay about 2,500 Rupiah, or about a quarter buck. Then why the owner must spend thousands of US Dollar only to modify their ride? That's because the passengers in Padang are selective. They don't want to ride a common angkot. So, when one angkot was modified, soon the other join the competition.
The cars are not only full in color and logos. It also equipped with powerfull sound system to play local music. Don't forget a mini screen to play some videos and DVD's. The seat promises perfect pleasant. What a car! And you only have to pay a quarter buck for all of that!
I wish some other cities in Indonesia would have a similar public transportation too. What about your city?
