Tips on How to Get a Ripped Body

Do you watch the 300 movie? The movie was not only great, but it had something else. What's that? Take a look at the body of King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and his men. They had great shape, right? If you're a real gentleman, you had to be wonder, how'd they get that shape? Here's some tips on how to get a ripped body like Gerard Butler and the other actors had.

Realize that most of the actors in the 300 movie didn't get their 'Spartan-like' bodies overnight. All the actors (including Gerald Butler) had actually impressive physiques way before they were approached to do the movie 300, so you probably will never get a body like them exactly, the result of the training depending on your original body shape. Here's the training tips:

You have to Focus mainly on doing compound exercises like Bench press, Squats, DeadLifts, Military press, Weighted chin-ups, Weighted regular dips, Bench dips, Handstand push-ups, and Power cleans. Lift heavy by doing only compound exercises for 5 sets of 3-8 reps. After your weight training workouts with compound exercises... Drink a whey protein shake with 10 grams of glutamine and 5-10 grams of creatine mixed in it. You need to drink a high-sugar drink like Gatorade, apple juice or grape juice after working out. Keep track of how much weight you're using when doing the compound exercises so you can use even heavier weight and build bigger 'Spartan like' muscles.

If you can't afford a gym membership then... doing compound bodyweight exercises like Weighted chin-ups, Weighted regular dips, Bench dips, and Handstand push-ups will do just fine. Expect drastic changes in your physique after 6-8 weeks. Get 6-10 hours of sleep a day so your '300' muscles can grow.

Then how to diet?

First, drink lot of water! Eat a balanced diet of lean proteins like tuna & baked chicken, healthy fats from nuts & seeds, and un-refined carbs like oatmeal, fruits & vegetables. Drink whey protein. Eat plenty of almonds (and other nuts) to increase testosterone so you can grow those 'big 300' muscles without steroids. Eat oysters and other foods high in zinc to increase testosterone. Drink or eat a slow absorbing protein like casein (milk) or egg before bed to prevent muscle loss while sleeping. Supplement your diet with magnesium & zinc. The only supplement you MUST have to build '300 like' muscles is whey protein and creatine. Take Glutamine for muscle repair and growth.

Here things to avoid.

Avoid sugars, sweets, sodas, and other refined carbs. Avoid all exercise machines - do compound exercises only. Avoid all exercise machines - do compound exercises only. Don't drink whey protein before bed.

To get motivated, look at yourself everyday in the mirror wearing nothing but your boxers. And if necessary, take a video or photograph of your body transformation.

After you get the ripped body, one more thing to keep remember is, don't stop the training and the diet! Keep it regularly as you can. Gerard Butler had a great shape in the 300 movie, but when he plays on his next movie, The Ugly Truth, he's no longer that great.
